Award-winning director David Waronja is yet again set to release 'a Kenya's finest film' Fast lane starred by award-winning actor Justin Mirichi set to premiere January 2021.
The 50,000 budget short film unfolds the story of a cop who must team up with a former terrorist to prevent an attack, the two have a little time and ends up risking it all.
In an interview with the Africa-tales Njuguna Ng'ang'a who doubles as the Producer of the film and Sound designer said that he had two reasons why Waronja was the best person to direct the picture.
"Waronja Directed the film because 1st he is an award-winning director and 2nd he was also the writer so he understood the short film more."
Asked to comment on Justin Mirichi as the lead he said that Mirichi.
"He is an amazing actor everyone enjoyed his acting skills on set although some stunts were dangerous."
David Waronja sums up as the write and cinematographer of First lane. Earlier this year Waronja's one-shot film AutoMedic- a story of a young man who is left to look after his sick little sister after having to let go of the house help. He has crafted a life-support system for his sister thats powered by a truck. He runs out of fuel and has to try the other way to power the device or risk losing the sister. The film will see a newbie Kennedy Githuka who played the terrorist. He is believed to be the best actor in the film despite not having ever be on screen before.
Waronja, Njuguna, and Mirichi were all featured in the celebrated IRIE short film nominated for My Rode Reel 2020.
