On her Twitter account, Njeri asked why activist Boniface Mwangi acted in his own documentary as himself, martyring himself.
She went ahead and posed a question "Do we have any movies on Wangari Mathaai, On Dedan Kimathi, On the saba saba folk?"

Her twitter audience had mixed reactions some in support of Kenyan Activist Boniface Mwangi saying that it was a bold move for him to produce the film, 'which chronicles the activist's seven-year journey beginning with chaos-filled street protests and culminating in Boniface's decision to run for a political seat in his childhood neighborhood, Starehe constituency, where he is confronted by the reality of challenging strong political dynasties.'Wikipedia.

Those supporting Former Spice Radio Presenter said that the film was made for his sponsor.

The film has bagged awards Internationally including Official Selection Full Frame Documentary Film Festival 2020, Best Documentary Durban International Film Festival 2020, Best Film Edit Sundance Film Festival 2020 where it also premiered. 

Softie has got 100℅ rankings on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.2|10 on IMDb. 

Softie is currently screening in Kenya on selected Film theaters and has gained attention from Kenyans with Filmmakers, Journalists, and Wanjiku sharing their sentiments after watching the film by Sam Soko.
