Wamblambez hit makers yet again with a new YouTube channel as Media personality asks for 1.5 Million Ksh to give the group's official YouTube channel logins back.
Sailors 254 are once again on a rough time after their former manager refused to give Logins for their official channel ‘Sailor254'. According to a source close to the group, Mwalimu Rachel is asking for a hefty 1.5m Ksh as compensation for making the young men's talent dreams come true.
Sailors 254 Channel on YouTube has been active till 14 Sept 2020 with their controversial song Chepukati.
The channel
It is believed that misunderstanding sparked the air after Sailors released a collabo with Majirani dubbed ‘Chepukati’. According to Classic105.com Sailors hit with Majirani was pulled down while trending number 12 with more than 100,000 views on YouTube. In an interview, Majirani stated that they contacted K-Lettta and Mwalimu Rachel and paid a lot of money to have the collabo done.
A few days later there was a text saying that Black Market Record (Official Sailors 254 Manager) stopped the song distribution because they worked with an artist without BMP's consent.
“In short it is an-in house conflict and there is something they are not telling us.”
The group's new song Kulewa Kuchuchuma is in a new youtube channel dubbed The Sailors 254 official.
Sailors 254 hit the public domain after their controversial hit song ‘Wamlambez' hit the airwaves back in 2019 on Mwalimu's YouTube page. The song came necitizen 'national anthem' where children, Teen, Youth even politicians sang the song which was to be banned by Kenya Film and Classification Board for its content.
At the time to rule the airwaves, the group was managed with Media personality Mwalimu Rachel with 2 songs from the group of 5 on her personal YouTube page – Wamlambez released on April 5, 2019, and Pekejeng which has over 6million views on YouTube.
Allegations by several social media users claimed that the Radio presenter was using Gengetone singers for her benefit.
After the uproar on October 3, 2019, the group revealed that they had ditched a channel run by Mwalimu.
On an Instagram post shared by Sailors, it stated that “ Mwenda Pole hajikwai! Our official YouTube channel is now public kindly subscribe.”
Till the publishing of this article, we tried to reach Mwalimu for comment.
